About Antonia
I live in London with my African husband and three children and have been a travel writer since 2003 after a life-changing Eureka moment when I realised it was actually a "thing" to travel and write and get paid for it. I've stayed in more hotels than I can possibly remember after years of writing reviews for the Telegraph, Hearst magazines and Condé Nast Traveller, among others. I prefer to write big colour features for the likes of the Times, the Observer, the FT and National Geographic Traveller, for which I occasionally win awards (I was awarded Freelance Writer of the Year in 2022). I also have an award-winning podcast, Jon and Antonia Take on the World, with fellow travel writer and broadcaster Jon Holmes. My areas of expertise include the Caribbean, the British Isles, family travel and accessible travel (my husband is disabled), but I love to go to (and write about) somewhere new. I often joke I'm one of the world's most poorly travelled travel writers with entire continents yet to explore.
