About Oliver
Oliver Smith is a journalist based in London. He has been named Travel Writer of the Year on four occasions for reporting in Lonely Planet magazine in the UK, and is the recipient of the Lowell Thomas Gold Award for reporting in Outside in the United States. His book: On a Holy Island: A Modern Pilgrimage Across Britain, sets out to reframe our idea of 'pilgrimage' in Britain by retracing sacred travel made across time, and was published March 2024 in the UK and will be published next year in the US.
