Pyrgos Prosforeiou

Macedonia

The 14th-century tower that is Ouranoupoli's most distinctive landmark was augmented by the Byzantines, and reportedly holds helmets, burial vessels and other local artefacts of antiquity. Refurbished, it's nonetheless closed to the public – no more than a photo op for those sailing on to Athos.
