We're all taking precautions to avoid contracting COVID-19, but supermodel Naomi Campbell demonstrated recently that she was taking no chances whatsoever while travelling by plane from her home city of New York. She posted an image on Instagram that showed her on a flight wearing a full-body hazmat suit, a face mask, safety goggles and a face shield.
The model, who turns 50 later this month, also donned a similar outfit while travelling from Los Angeles in March. She later revealed it to be a DuPont Industrial & Scientific Disposable Elastic Waist, Bootie and Hood Tyvek Coverall Suit while explaining that she feels apprehensive while flying because of COVID-19. “As this is a very sensitive time in the world, I’m not going to lie to you and say I’m not nervous to take this flight," she explained. "I am."
Naomi travels all around the world for work and she unveiled her pre-flight routine in a video on her YouTube channel, Being Naomi, in 2019. She has always been conscious of germs, and showed her travel bag, which contained a hydration pack filled with face masks. She then donned a pair of disposable gloves and embarked on cleaning her seat, tray, TV, headrest and entertainment remote control with anti-bacterial wipes. "As much as I travel, I should get sick so much more with colds and stuff and I'm blessed that I don't," she explained. "I really think this helps me – my little routine."
Speaking to People, Naomi pointed out that COVID-10 "doesn't discriminate" and anyone can contract it. “We’re all in the same boat,” she said. “Let’s all just all protect ourselves and take what measures we need to do to feel safe, that’s it. It’s really simple to me.”
